"Stripping the Membranes"

So I went to the doctor yesterday, and she feels Jack is "done" cooking he is just getting bigger now! She estimates he is already 7- 7.5 pounds! So she "stripped my membranes" to try to get things going. The procedure hurt quite a bit, but I figured it was worth it if it sent me into labor! She said my "mucus plug" was gone, and that I had probably lost it a while ago. She warned me that I may bleed a little and should have some cramping.

When I got home I checked things out on the internet, and it seems to be a pretty effective way of getting things going, but only if your ready anyway, it just kind of jump starts things. So after a little research I went to the bathroom, and even though she warned me, when I saw blood I freaked out a little!! But it is a good sign. I was very crampy all evening. I was having a few contractions as well. I was using the ball to sit on to help with the back pain, and Chris and I took a nice long walk. But about 11 pm all the cramping and contractions just stopped! So we will just have to see if they start again today.......... So yes I am still pregnant, and still uncomfortable as can be. Just waiting......... :o)
