First Week Home

We survived our first week at home! Yeah! Jack is a great baby! He loves to play with his Daddy, and look around at everything. He likes to watch the cats walk by- they don’t want much to do with him. Him and I finally got the hang of nursing, so he is chowing down every 2-3 hours! The doctor said he should be going through a growth spurt around 7-10 days, so I guess that is where we are now. He is also a great sleeper! He has yet to wake us in the middle of the night. We have to wake him up to feed him, so we are hoping this mild mannered behavior sticks! Keep your fingers crossed!

I also wanted to thank everyone for coming to visit this past week, we really enjoyed you all coming by. It is something we look forward to. And thank you so much for all the great food, it was really nice to not have to cook a few meals! So keep coming by, and visiting! Jack loves getting to know all his “people”.

Welcome Home Baby Jack!!!

Well as you may know- we are home! It feels so good! I am so happy to be back home. Jack had the full attention of the cats when we first got home. For a good ten minutes all they did was pace around him, trying to figure out what he was. It was pretty funny. Chris is making dinner, and I am so looking forward to a home cooked meal! Well, that's all for now. If you would like to come visit us next week, just please give us a call. Thank you! Love you guys!

Jack is out of the NICU!!! Yeah!!!

So as some of you may have heard, Jack is out of the NICU! I called this morning to check on him, and I got his attending physician on the phone and she said she was reviewing Jack's charts and labs and she said he is so healthy she was ordering his antibiotics to be stopped, and recommending he be discharged from the NICU! I was so excited I cried! I was also able to take my shower today! So I feel so fresh and clean!

Tomorrow I will be getting my staples out, and hope to see the Lactation Consultant one more time. Then in the afternoon we will be headed home! So give us a call next week if you want to come over for a visit! We love you guys! Thanks for all the prayers!

Jack getting his first bath at about 30 minutes after birth! Can you believe how calm he is?? This is how he is all the time! Enjoy!

Day Two!

So day 2 went pretty well! We had lots of visitors, and Jack got to meet lots of important people! He loved all the attention! One the medical side Jack’s white blood cell count came back lowered, they checked his electrolytes and those were in normal range, but he had one elevated level due to a little dehydration. So he is doing very very well, he is still in the NICU because he still has a few more doses of antibiotics to go. Once he is done with those we will probably be discharged together! Hopefully that will be this evening. I am set to have my staples removed today also, and then I get to shower, yeah!!! I showered Tuesday and went into the hospital early Wednesday morning so I am in desperate need of a shower! (They won’t let you shower with staples in your tummy) So enjoy the pictures of our little man! Keep praying for us!!

Welcome Baby Jack!!!

So Jack finally decided to arrive! I woke up Wednesday morning at about 3 am to some bright red bleeding. So I called Labor and Delivery around 6:15 am and they told me to come in and be checked. Chris and I arrived at the hospital at 7 am. They checked me, and said I had broke my water! So that means it is time to have a baby!!! I was very excited and emotional! Well I will spare you some of the detail and make a very long story, a short one. After about 15 hours of labor, me spiking a high fever and still only dilating to 7 cm, they decided I needed a C-Section. After they got the little man out, he was whisked away to the NICU for observation. He had a little trouble breathing at first, and he too had a little infection. (I did also, thats why I had a fever) So he is still hanging out there because they want to keep a close eye on him for 24 hours, then they will check him again in the morning and hopefully bring him to my room. So I will keep you all up dated! Keep us in your prayers!

40 weeks and 5 days!!!

So I have had a relatively easy pregnancy. I have been in perfect health the whole time, without an issues. Other than a little morning sickness in the beginning I have really enjoyed being pregnant. That all kinda came to a halt at 39 weeks. I started to become super uncomfortable and really looking tword the light at the end of the tunnel! That was almost 2 weeks ago! I have been through this whole process with no swelling at all. Sunday my feet and ankles puffed up like balloons, and they refuse to go down! No amount of laying down helps them go down. I am really just ready for this little boy to come into this world and get the heck out of my body! I have given him plenty of time in there, but now it is time to face the real world!!

On the up side with Jack arriving so late, we have had the chance to completely finish his room, crib and all! So I included a few pictures for you to check out! Sorry the quality isn't great, the camera really does better with good lighting and we still need a lamp for the room. The only thing not in Jack's room is the glider, it is in my room for the time being. Until he starts to sleep in his room. OK well enjoy!
