37 Weeks and 2 Days

Well I am officially full term! So Jack can come when he is ready! I have been having lots of contractions and lots of nausea over the last few days. I am finally at that uncomfortable stage in this pregnancy! Everything is started to get harder! During the day I feel pretty good, but in the evenings I start to go downhill. Just finding a comfortable position to sit on the couch is a serious challenge! Well it will all be over soon enough, right?
So I went to the doctor last night and she checked my cervix. There is not much going on yet, but she did say it was very soft and starting to thin out. However, that is not really an indicator that anything will be happening anytime soon. So we just wait now........ Today is my last day of work, and I am not looking forward to saying 'Good-bye.' The Johnson's have been a major part of my life the past two years, and I will miss them terribly. I see Julian and Camden almost as my own. They are very near and dear to my heart! At least since I will not be working I will be ale to visit them often!!

Get Away Weekend

Well Chris and I had quite the adventure this weekend! We knew we needed to get away from this heat! So we left Saturday morning at 9 am, not really having a destination in mind, just knowing we wanted to head to the coast. Once we hit Bodega Bay we thought we would find some where to eat lunch and then go from there. Well we kept passing places we didn’t feel like stopping at, so we just kept going. All the while driving with the windows open and really enjoying the 61 degree weather and the view of the ocean! Highway 1 is just beautiful! Then we came into Jenner, and went right through it, then through Sea Ranch and into Gualala. Where we finally stopped for lunch at a great little place overlooking the ocean. So after a little walking around in Gualala we headed for Mendocino, figuring we would stop there for the night. But once we got there we found a magazine for Fort Bragg and decided to go there instead. Once we got there we walked around and did some shopping and around 6 pm decided before we had dinner we should find a place to stay for the night. So much to our surprise place after place was full- NO VACANCY anywhere!! Come to find out there was a dirt bike convention in town and just about everything was booked up! So feeling a bit frustrated we were trying to figure out what town we would try next. While I continued to call a few places. Finally the Coast Inn and Spa said they had a room available! So we drove over there and it was such a cute place! The room was wonderful, it was a 5 minute walk to the beach and they have a full spa treatment available there. So after we ate dinner we hit the jacuzzi and then Chris had a Thai Massage by what he describe as a 70 year old Asian woman who was about 4’10’’ and about 90 pounds. He said at one point she had her knees in his back, but he came back to our room limp as a noodle! He said it was really really great! This morning I woke Chris up at 5 am and we went down to the beach for low tide, we had a blast splashing around and picking up shells and things. After some breakfast we hit the road and headed inland. We drove down Hwy 20, through the trees and stopped at the Fife Winery. Then we drove around Clear Lake, where we stopped for lunch. By this point it was 1 pm and we were both ready to be home, so we jumped on I-5. We had such a blast! It was just what we needed! We have been so busy getting our house ready for baby, we haven't even had one weekend to relax in I can not even remember how long! Between painting the whole house, re-organizing every drawer, and the new carpet we have had enough projects! So enjoy the pics of our trip! We are getting closer to my due date, 23 days and counting!! Can’t wait to meet baby Jack!
